Article by Phoenix writer Kate Murphy ’25:

Last school year, the Kellenberg Class of 2024 had the option to sign up for and participate in the
Molloy Common Read Program. In this program, they read The Many Daughters of Afong Moy by Jamie Ford, an American author whose works have been featured on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Accompanied by Mr. Tahany and Mrs. Tochelli, the Kellenberg seniors attended the Freshman Convocation at Molloy University where Ford gave a speech on the aforementioned literary work. “Ford reflected upon the importance of embracing cultural cross pollination in our society and the beauty of multiculturalism,” said Mrs. Tochelli.

As well, the Firebirds got to meet the author and converse with him briefly before his presentation and have their copies of the highly praised literary work signed by Ford.

The representatives of Kellenberg were then given a tour of the beautiful campus at Molloy University, rounding out an excellent day.
