On Thursday, November 10th, Kellenberg’s Junior CROSS division met with a representative of the Little Sisters of the Poor as well as one of their Residents in the Queen of Peace Residence in Queens Village, NY.
The Little Sisters of the Poor is an order of Catholic women dedicated to serving the elderly by giving those in need a home where they can be cared for until the end of their lives.
Sister Patrice shared her vocation story with the students, followed by Resident Winnie sharing the details of her life in the home.
Bro. Michael Gillen, S.M., shared, “Kellenberg Memorial has maintained a very close contact with the Queen of Peace Residence for many years. The members of Junior CROSS are now looking forward to visiting with the elderly poor during Advent and Christmas.”
CROSS, formally known as “Christians Reaching Out Spreading Spirituality,” is a faith-based after school club where students learn how to spread the message of the Gospel both inside and outside of school.
