Article by Phoenix writer Brooke Federico ’24:

On November 2, XLT took place for the second time during the 2022-2023 Kellenberg school year. XLT is an opportunity for students to be in the presence of God while enjoying dinner and being with friends.

The event started with Eucharistic Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Father Dan began the session with an opening prayer. It included the Benediction blessing with the Eucharist and the singing of the hymn “Down in Adoration Falling” and “The Divine Praises.” Father Dan and Father Tom offered students to attend confession during Adoration.

Approximately 250 students from all grades attended the event. Brother Peter, who recently professed his final vows to the Society of Mary, spoke alongside students who attended the Marianist Life Program in Texas. The XLT band, moderated by Mr. Bursig played a huge role in the event, performing vocal and instrumental inflections of familiar Kellenberg hymns. Mr. Bursig commemorated the development of the band alongside the service’s gain in traction. “I have moderated the XLT Band since 2009, inheriting it from a previous moderator. I am so happy to have seen it grow into the great program that it is today.”

XLT allows students to grow with God and each other. Join in the Adoration at the next XLT on November 30 for a fantastic religious experience.
