Article by Phoenix writer Michelle Paszek ’24:

On Tuesday, March 8th, Mrs. Cioffi gave students a presentation on Women in Business in the library after school for International Women’s Day.

Mrs. Cioffi, the wife of history teacher Mr. Cioffi, is currently a bank’s sales manager with a degree in finance. Mrs. Cioffi spoke on her experiences throughout college and in her career path in banking. She also shared the story of the hardships she endured as well as her mentors and role models. She gave the students advice for their future careers, whether it be in business and finance or in another field.

“You don’t have to make the same mistakes others make,” Mrs. Cioffi said during her presentation. “You make your own, form a little bit of scar tissue because that’s how you learn.”

She concluded her presentation with an open Q/A and her 3 S’s of advice: to say what you mean and mean what you say, to slow down and take the time to respond, not react, and to stay true to yourself.

Julie Busch ‘22, a student attendee, shared, “I attended because I’m currently a senior going to college next year and I declared my major as finance. I hoped to learn more about what my experiences would be heading into a corporate career. I found this to be a very valuable experience and I’m happy Kellenberg gave me this opportunity.”

Overall, this was a very informative and inspiring presentation for students. Happy National Women’s History Month!
