MT 18:21-35

This gospel is all about forgiveness. It begins with Peter asking Jesus how many times he must forgive his brother. When peter says seven times, Jesus says to forgive him seventy-seven times instead. He then begins to tell a parable explaining how we shouldn’t forgive just one person, but everyone. He also says that is how the Heavenly Father is like. He forgives anyone and everyone, not just one person. But if you don’t forgive, you will be in trouble and must suffer the consequences. If we ask God for forgiveness, but don’t forgive others, we are committing a grave sin. I think people can relate to this gospel. The gospel is saying that we should forgive everyone, and that holding grudges is bad. It is better to forgive out enemies rather than punish them more.
