MT 5: 43-48
Christianity is a unique relationship between God and man, because God has commanded man to love in a peculiar way, to both one’s friend, and one’s enemy. But why? Because God does the same: God will raise the sun and shower with rain on all people. God does these things because this is his ways. How can a being of love dispense hatred? He can’t. So, simply, love like God loves.
Now, what is love? Is an emotion, like happiness, or an appreciation, sentimentality. Love is action, where one wills the good of the other, with no expectation of return. You can have marital love, or parental love, or tough love – and all these things are to enhance the goodness and development of the receiver of that love.
